It is said that the reason for Star India pulling out of the bidding race was due to the lack of clarity regarding the future of the game. The previous deal with Star as the jersey sponsor began in December 2013.

The Logo of Oppo will now reflect on the jerseys of the Senior, List A, U-19 and Women’s cricket team. This would make Oppo join the ranks of Star Sports, Paytm, Nike, Jana, Hyundai, Pepsi and their rival Vivo as one of the sponsors of the BCCI.

The News comes in just at the right time for the sponsors as Indian Cricket team gears up for the Champions Trophy termed very rightly as the ‘Champions ka Worldcup’ assuring many eyeballs capturing every movement of the Indian Cricket team including their attire.

It was a move worth every penny spent to take on Vivo, which is also the title sponsor of the more popular Indian Premier League. This move would assure a serious attempt at winning the tightly fought market share game in the Indian mobile segment, and might actually take Oppo well past Vivo effortlessly.
